About the game

What is Bagh-Chal?

Bagh-Chal (बाघचाल), or “Tiger Movement,” is a traditional Nepali game played with four tigers and twenty goats. Tigers jump over goats to capture them; the goats work together to trap the tigers.

How to play

Goats are placed one at a time. Once all twenty are on the board, they can move along connected lines. Tigers can move one step or jump a goat to capture it. Tigers win after five captures; goats win by trapping all four tigers.
